In order to deliver a live website to the customer Flat White Designs must follow a number of basic steps.

Establish the Structure of the Website.  The first step in the web design process is to agree the purpose of the site, and from this comes the structure.

Design the Website Look and Feel. We work closely with the customer to design a look and feel which will best meet the customer's requirements. Designs are kept simple to produce and affordable solution.

Load Website Content. Once the structure and the look and feel of the website have been established, we con populate it with text and images. An allocation of 2000 words of text and 20 images is included in the standard package price. If more content is required, this can easily be added by the customer using the web-based editor or we will be very happy to quote for the additional work.

Verify Cross-Browser Operation. Before the website goes live, we will ensure that it looks good on all common browsers, not just our favourite one. 

Register a domain name. The domain name for this website is xn--80aafnwj7a6g.xn--41a.xn--p1acf and the extension is ".com". Provided it has not already been registered and the extension is not reserved (eg .ac.nz or .govt.nz), you can select whichever domain name and extension you want. It makes sense to have a domain name that includes the name of your organisation and a .nz extension. People like to know what country they are dealing with.

Select a web host. The web host is the computer server on which your website resides. In addition to providing server space (anything from 10MB to 100's of GBs) the web host also provides varying degrees of functionality. For example, dynamic websites typically require that the server supports php and mysql. The customer can choose to (1) have server space allocated to them directly by the web-hosting company or (2) have server space allocated to them by Flat White Designs.  Option (2) is the cheaper option but means that there are certain maintenance operations that will remain under the control of Flat White Designs. During the initial stages of design, your website will reside on a development server. Once you are happy with the design, we will publish your website on the internet for everyone to enjoy. 

Make it Live! The final stage is to migrate your site from the development area to the web host and make it live.
